Background
Amy received her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She maintains Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Amy has worked as a staff nurse in a psychiatric emergency setting as well as in an inpatient psychiatric facility. She has cared for a wide range of patients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions. Amy uses evidence-based practices that are tailored to a person's lifestyle, family, and culture, often asking herself, "If this was my family member, what kind of care would I want for them?" She believes that her role is to assist individuals in finding the best treatment plan for them, including referring to other providers and therapists, as necessary. Her interests include trauma based conditions, cross-generational conflicts in minority populations, anxiety, and mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorders.
