Staff Counselor

Background

Scott Simpson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. He is passionate about reaching out cross-culturally and being a supportive guide to those who want to seek positive change in their lives. Scott has broad experience in a variety of treatment modalities, aimed to assist in the change process, including Positive Psychology, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, including Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Scott has a long history of treating trauma and assisting clients with overcoming substance abuse, self-harm, and other life-altering, negative, events, including grief and loss. Scott has dual master’s degrees, the first in Intercultural Studies, and the second in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from Adams State University. Scott has previously lived in Mexico and speaks Spanish. Some of Scott’s hobbies include surfing, motorcycling and dog training
