Kenneth Kavanagh has over twenty years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. He maintains Board Certifications as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC). He has worked with many diverse populations including working professionals, high school and university students, persons battling addictions, and patients in academic medical and psychiatric settings. He is experienced in the care of patients from late adolescence to late-middle adulthood with Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Bipolar Disorders, Binge-Eating Disorder, Somatic Disorders, Sleep Disorders, Trauma, and Psychotic Disorders. He also has significant experience in LGBT health care, emerging gender and sexuality identity issues, life-stage transitions, and living with chronic disease. Guiding principles for his practice include, evidence/scientific-based care and collaborative care with therapists, primary care providers, and specialists. His goal is to work in partnership with his patients to maximize personal potential and improve motivation and self-care, with the goal of reaching greater authenticity and confidence. Kenneth’s interactive style is catered to his patient's needs, and can range from casual, supportive, directive, or challenging, depending on what is most useful for any patient. He always maintains a collaborative and respectful approach, and strives to establish a safe therapeutic environment with compassion, empathy, and significant dose of humor when needed.
