Background

Dr. Simpson received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Adler University in 2017. She works with individuals across the lifespan navigating anxiety, depression, relational stress, school adjustment, and life transitions. She recognizes that mental illnesses impacts the whole family and is passionate about working with caregivers and siblings Affected by the mental health challenges facing their loved ones. She admires the resilience and courage of the people she serves. She uses a strength-based holistic model of therapy that values collaboration, transparency, and warmth. She believes that the longing is a central component of mental health and strives to help people find meaning, hope, and connection in their lives. She is a certified Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist, and incorporates yoga, mindfulness practice, expressive arts, and insight oriented approaches in her work. These approaches help individuals and families increase awareness of their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and how these impact relationships. Dr. Simpson is a Certified Parent Educator in Positive Discipline, and is devoted to helping parents find the right parenting approach for their family to nurture healthy development and their children. She has specialized training in working with families using the Trauma Systems, therapy model which emphasizes the role of environment and culture in helping children heal.
