Dr. Remmert received his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas. Over two decades of his practice, he has been involved in providing psychotherapy, teaching, performing psychological testing, and providing management consulting and executive assessments.
He began his work in Chicago, at a management consulting firm specializing in executive assessments at several Fortune 500 companies. Weary of travel, he returned to his roots in providing private psychotherapy, and offering forensic consultation within the Los Angeles and Ventura county courts as well as Federal Courts in Las Vegas. At that time, he concurrently taught graduate psychology students at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Montecito, California and performed Learning Disability Assessments for Pepperdine University in Malibu. Family brought him to Colorado where he previously worked in community mental health at Mental Health Partners and Centura Health Physicians Group.
Dr. Remmert views therapy as a collaborative relationship on the part of therapist and patient. He believes that cooperation and mutual respect are the foundation for a productive therapeutic relationship followed by sharing a collective responsibility for personal growth and change. He works in a solution-focused framework with an emphasis on cognition, insight, and depth intended to recognize and solve an immediate concern. Deeper thought and meaning can be explored to develop greater happiness and insight, as concerns evolve, and as your work together progresses.
